Yes, strange as it may sound, I just came accross an online “Chocolate University” 9 month course! That is one lesson a week for 40 weeks.
The course has been devised by Bryn Kirk who has worked within the chocolate industry for over 10 years. The website says that the course contains the following:
• Learn flavor descriptors for tasting chocolate
• Understand how chocolate is manufactured
• Learn the secrets to tempering chocolate
• Understand the basics of chocolate tastings
• Make Milk and Dark chocolate comparisons
• Learn health facts about chocolate
• Look at politics and chocolate
• Get great chocolate recipes
• Learn about harvesting and fermenting cacao
• …and so much more…
But perhaps the best thing is that you get to eat chocolate for your homework!
